Hi Folks
Many thanks to everyone who played in last Saturday’s touring game, especially those who stepped in at the last minute when some had to drop out. Thanks also to Jane, who not only made all the teas and coffees for the A Team in the morning but then repeated the job in the afternoon for the six rinks and spectators! Thanks also to Carol, Sandra and Jenny who organised the raffle. Thanks as well to Chris, Pete and Rob for everything they helped with.
It was a good game which our opponents from Newbury & Hungerford Bowls Clubs thoroughly enjoyed. The result didn’t go our way as we only won on two rinks but that was better than their game at Ventnor where they only lost on one rink. However, it was a profitable afternoon for the Club, with £95 in Rink Fees, £88 on the Raffle, and £200 from the Fridge drinks.
We now have two touring games remaining on Friday11th & Sunday 13th September. I will send out a reminder to people who have volunteered to play in these games which bring in much needed income for the club.
N.B. Don’t forget the AGM on 1 October. The sheet is on the club noticeboard for you to nominate members for club officers! Don’t leave it to others!!
