Many congratulations to Paul Allo & Netty Smallman who won their National Mixed Pairs away game last week against a pair at Fareham (Hants). It was a very close game, with them trailing for a long time but they got a 5 in the 16th end to take the lead and hold out in the last two ends to eventually win.
It now means that Paul & Netty are through to the Area Final, which will played at a neutral venue against another pair from Hampshire.
Well done to both of them and I suppose it all comes down to them being drawn out of the hat to play in the Pairs in our Internal Competition a few years ago!
So, have you put your name down yet for the Competitions this year? If not, get down to the Clubhouse and write your name on the sheet on the Main Noticeboard – you never know what might happen as a result!!
