The Committee would like to offer the following Club Competitions for this year. They will be played from late May to the end of August with the Finals Weekend being Saturday / Sunday September 9th/10th.
Holding the Finals over a weekend gives us more leeway to schedule finals for the days players are available. Please make sure you are available over this weekend if you enter as we don’t intend to change the finals dates.
Open Pairs Competition
Open to all members of the Club, Men and Ladies.
The Sub Committee will seed all players entered into two groups (experienced / less experienced). One player is drawn from each group to make up a pair.
This year’s format will be on a knockout basis, 18 ends, 4 bowls per player.
Play on dates will be set for each round – players may wish to try and arrange to play before the date if problems with availability.
The Final will be played on the weekend Saturday / Sunday, September 9th / 10th.
£2.50 per person entry fee that goes towards the buying/engraving of trophies.
(Please pay your entry fee on the day you play your first round.)
Men’s / Ladies Singles Competitions
There will be one Competition for Men and one for Ladies.
The format is knockout four bowl singles – first to 21 shots for each round.
Play by dates will be set for each round – games must be played by the scheduled date.
Named player on the top of the draw to arrange a marker – the Committee will arrange an umpire for the semi -finals on but not before.
Finalists to play on the weekend Saturday / Sunday, September 9th / 10th.

As for last year, in order to increase the range of Competitions, the losing player in the first round of the Mens/Ladies Singles Competition will be entered into either a Men’s or Ladies Plate Competition with another chance to progress and win a trophy.
NEW! NOVICE CHALLENGE CUP
OPEN TO ANY MEMBER OF THE CLUB WHO HAS NEVER WON A CLUB COMPETITION BEFORE.
This is a new Competition aimed at bowlers new to the sport and/or haven’t quite managed to win a competition to date!
There will be one Competition to include ladies and men.

If you’ve been a runner up in a previous season but not a winner you can still enter.
If you have won a Competition as a member of another club you are not eligible to enter.

TRIPLES SPOON DRIVE FUN EVENTS
We are also considering organising some fun Triples Spoon Drive events on a just turn up and play basis. Look out for details on the club noticeboard.
