Hi Folks
Many congratulations to our Ladies’ A Team who beat Newport Ladies 4 – 2 to become Division 2 Champions and therefore win promotion to play in Division 1 next season. This is a remarkable achievement after only one season in Division 2, having gained promotion last year!
It was a nervy start with both rinks trailing at tea halfway through but both rinks fought back with Chris Lloyd’s rink ( with Pat Abrook, Liz Barsdell & Netty Smallman) winning easily in the end to gain the win on overall shots. Sharon Hartill’s rink (with Pat Marshall, Sandra Scourfield & Jenny Ward) gave their opponents a run for their money but only lost the rink by a tight margin which needed a measure at the end.
There were rumours of bottles of Prosecco being opened at their ladies’ get together afterwards but they all deserve it. Many thanks to everyone who came down to support.
